A Message From The MSC President

Welcome to the Maroons Soccer Club.

Founded in 1990, the Maroons Soccer Club is a competitive travel soccer club with a focus on player development. With more than 40 teams and over 650 players from 2nd grade through High School, we are the largest club in the Northern Counties Soccer Association.

We offer a Kinder Kickers program that is cosponsored by the Ridgewood Soccer Association, and provides an introduction to soccer, for boys and girls as young as 4, through fun, non-competitive play. Our U7 “Mini Maroons” program, runs over the winter and during the spring for first graders continues this focus on fundamentals and readies them for League play. Competitive league play begins at U8.

Our teams typically train twice a week and play on weekends in the fall and spring. We enter one fall tournament as a club each year during the Columbus Day weekend and the majority of our teams participate in our Father’s Day Tournament here in Ridgewood New Jersey. Teams are coached by a combination of professional trainers and dedicated parent coaches. All of our parent coaches have taken NSCAA or equivalent courses. More than 20 of our parent coaches have taken the NSCAA Junior Level VI diploma and several have even taken the national diploma and advanced national diploma.

Our goal is to develop the technical and tactical skills necessary to become a well-rounded soccer player in an environment that encourages good sportsmanship. We also hope our players will learn the important life lessons that come from being part of a team.  Participation in the Maroon Soccer Club should be a great experience for both our players and their parents.

I hope that your involvement with the Maroons leads to a lifelong passion for the beautiful game.

Paul Boogaert
